MIRANDA INSTITUTE® is an independent, nonpartisan research organization providing strategic intelligence on Venezuela’s business and investment environment for investors, business leaders, and institutions evaluating opportunities in the region.

Through its flagship Headlines & Intelligence Digest, the Institute delivers weekly analysis on developments affecting Venezuela, complemented by specialized reports on economic opportunities, sectoral data, and governance issues.

Omar Delgado / Founder

OMAR DELGADO is an economist with a Master’s degree in Economics, specializing in Econometrics, from Eastern Michigan University. He brings more than 35 years of executive and entrepreneurial leadership experience across the United States, the Caribbean, and Venezuela. He has held C-suite positions in finance, banking, higher education, consulting, and economic research, while also founding, owning, and operating wholesale and retail enterprises.

His professional experience includes senior leadership roles in the banking sector, consulting engagements with leading international firms, and executive positions in higher education, including serving as Vice President of two major universities. He has also taught courses in econometrics and computer science.

His governance experience includes service on the boards of Fedecámaras (Venezuela Chamber of Commerce), the Caracas Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Valores de Caracas), El Nacional (a leading newspaper), Lagunita Country Club in Caracas, and the Princeton Special District in New Jersey.

As Founder and Director of MIRANDA INSTITUTE, he leads its research agenda and publications, providing independent, evidence-based analysis for investors, business leaders, and policymakers.
